"Praise the Lord! Sing to the Lord a new song, and His praise in the congregation of the godly ones." - Psalm 149:1
God's Word calls us to praise Him and to lift our voices to Him with joyful singing. Over and over again we find God calling us through His Word to worship Him, to praise Him, to thank Him, to honor Him, to sing to Him, and to play instruments for Him. Here at Hopeful Baptist Church, the purpose in our music ministry is to lift up the name of Jesus and to do everything for God. We have a wonderful opportunity to worship and praise our Lord through music. We also have an awesome responsibility to do that with excellence and with our whole heart.
Worship is all about Jesus. That's what we want our music ministry to be....all about Jesus. All of our choirs and ensembles exist to give people the opportunity to express their worship to Him through music. God has given each of us a voice and He calls us to use it for Him. To some, He calls them to serve Him with their voice in a greater capacity through choirs and ensembles. To some, He has given abilities to play instruments and He desires those instruments to be played for Him and His glory.
We are here to worship God. We have been called to worship God through music. Whether you are involved in a choir or ensemble, or just a member of the congregation, we all are part of the music ministry of Hopeful Baptist Church. As John 4:24 teaches, let us worship the Lord in spirit and in truth.
