From the Pastor’s Desk

Vacation Bible School has been amazing at Hopeful Baptist Church! The Lord has brought many to our church over this past week. Close to 200 different children have participated this week and over 80 adults. Every day the theme, “Jesus is the Light of the World,” has been emphasized. Some of the children have indicated they want to talk more about their faith in Christ. We are praying for them and the families that we have connected with.

I challenge you with memorizing the theme verse for the week, in the same way we have challenged those attending:

12 Jesus spoke to them again: “I am the light of the world. Anyone who follows me will never walk in the darkness but will have the light of life.” (John 8:12)

I started preaching through the book of Romans on August 3, 2025. I have walked through Romans 1-8 over 34 sermons with you during that time. I have grown in my walk with the Lord as we have studied this great book, and I pray that you have as well.

I will be shifting gears this summer, taking time to preach through the book of Ecclesiastes. I have titled this series, “Summer of Wisdom: Chasing Wind.” We will start this study this Sunday.

Here are a few things going on in the life of Hopeful Baptist Church over the next few weeks:

Keep up with all of our upcoming events at www.hopefulbaptist.com/events

This Sunday, I will be preaching from Ecclesiastes 1:1-18; 12:8-14, “Everything is Meaningless.”

I am looking forward to worshiping with you on Sunday at 8:30 AM and 11:00 AM!
